The 2012, 366 Daily Photograph Challenge is into it’s 4th month.  This will be my 4th 365/366 photo a day challenge and hopefully the second time I will have completed the whole challenge.  (Last year was my 3rd and most successful attempt at taking a photo every day for a year!)

This year, instead of posting the day’s image to my photography blog, (which I found I was ALWAYS behind in keeping up to date!) I’ve been using the pro version of the Project365 App (it has a fantastic reminder which I’ve set for 6:30pm) and it allows me to upload my images directly to flickr, facebook, twitter and/or instagram if I so wish.  (There’s a free version too, but it doesn’t have several of the pro features including the reminder feature).  I’ve been using Instagr.am the most to give my images a bit more pizazz and to help me when I’m not being so creative or thoughtful in my compositions.

The other really cool thing about the Project365 app is that it allows me to save a page of each daily photo for the month and that’s what I’ll be posting to this blog instead of the photo a day.

Here’s January’s Photo-a-day shots:

365/365 The finish line!

Really, if I’d thought about it more ……. yesterday’s photo would have been a more “fitting” image for the last photo of the year.  Although, this image of crayfish remains also portrays a “finished” theme too!

I am very proud of myself that I completed a full year of the 365 photo a day challenge.  For the most part, my success in this, my 3rd attempt to complete the challenge belongs to having an iPhone in my pocket.  This fantastic device is my constant companion and can’t understand how I ever survived without it!

Although I kept up with the taking of a photo each day, the part I didn’t keep up with, was the posting to my photography blog.  As I reflect on this project, I’m already thinking about ways to minimise “streamline” what I do with my photos.  I’m leaning towards using instagram for everyone, and creating an instant instagram book for the 366 2012 photo challenge.  (I just received my instagram instant book from Blurb in the mail before Christmas – it was a promotion from Blurb and I have to say it’s pretty cool!).  Or, perhaps I will use iftt to create a task effect if I upload an image to flickr, it will trigger a post to my blog or I might use posterous except this blog will lay dormant …….. mmm more thought needed on this one.  I might even create a mini video of the month’s shots to post on this blog as a monthly summary of each days’ image.  Now the ideas are flowing ………

How about you?  What will you do for 3662012?  How will you record the challenge?
